The turbo on my 99 A4 1.8 is dead, and I am getting ready to replace it. The car has almost 250K and the turbo hasn't worked for about 100K+ miles. I'm looking to get a replacement and came across a K03-15 Sport (180HP)off a 98 Passat 1.8T. Does anyone see a problem with this turbo. I'd like to increase the power over the stock turbo (and i think this would be a small upgrade), but reliability is the most important thing.

Any thoughts?

You've been driving for 100k miles with a dead turbo? Why on earth would you do that?

Second... Is your car chipped?

If not... a used turbo can be had (k03) for next to nothing... then chip your car.

It will have more then 180hp then and you'll enjoy the car that much more.
