ey Guys,

I posted a few weeks ago asking about oils and changing your own oil on the 1.8T motor. I have a few last min questions about engine weight oil. I was planning on buying Mobil 1 0w-30 or 5w-30, but upon looking at the following link at list of approved oils for 502.00:

I found that its either 0w-40 or 5w-40.....and there is no Mobile 1 on the list...I KNOW there is quite a number running around with the 0w-30, but it seems that is under the 503.01 category....and confused on which weight of synthetic to buy. Is there any real difference between 0w-30 and 0w-40? Last 2 questions, just to double check, how many total quarts does the 1.8t take with the new gigantic filter? 4.2 quarts or so? And is the part # for the new big OEM filter: 068-115-561-B? Thanks in advance for all of the help! I appreciate it greatly!

If your in cold temps you want a 30, if your in very hot temps or drive your car hard all the time then you want 40. I am running 5w-30 mobil 1 in my car, but run redline 10w-30 or 10w-40 for the track.

don't have a link to it though. But its a synthetic Mobil 1
