Well I did some runs yesterday, mph where in excess of a speed that will go unmentioned, but fast. Oil temps soared to 225+. The car started at actually fumble. It doesn't seem like the EFK is keeping up with cool the car down. I did talk to the tuner and it is just tapped into the aux fan. Do you really think by running that adjustable Derale thermo on there that that would fix the issue...with wiring it up properly or should I just go back the stock fan clutch? though that might not prevent the hitting that high...but my car has never hit that oil temp with stock fan clutch.

air flow from those speeds should exceed the amount either the EFK or the viscous coupled fan would supply.
What was teh coolant temperature doing while the oil temp rose?

the car actually started spurting and I looked at my instrument cluster to see if there was something wrong and the only thing I could see was that my oil temps were in between 225 & the 250 mark.

Lots of A4's run around or a tad over 225 'normally'.
I think I'd start looking elsewhere ....

it happened twice so far. I have never driven the car that hard before and it was hammered in 5th and both times after I was done. I noticed some sputtering happen directly after it and both times I noticed that my oil temps were way higher than normal. After I relaxed on the car and the oil temps went back down...the car seemed just fine and I was able to continue aggressive driving with no ill affect. but on those few runs from a WOT downshift to 4th and continued in 5th. I noticed some stumbling. Whats the speed limiter on an A4? isn't it somewhere around 147 or something if your chipped and so forth?

that speed.
I'd look at the MAF, fuel trims and O2 sensor readings(Vag Com) ... you might be running a bit lean. That may account for the 'stumbling' and the sharp temp rise.
That said, depending on circumstances, seeing oil temps rise after a few WOT runs is normal. How much it rises is another issue.

but nothing like this. i thought maf or o2 sensor also. i could see running lean up there...i've never really had the need to do something like that before. but this corvette and is300 wanted to see what i had. i've never had an issue in the low gears starting from 1st and going into 4th for a little bit. oil temps would get hot but not the way this did and not as sharp of an incline like this. car drives fine other wise. felt great today. all reading on instrument cluster are where they are supposed to be I don't notice anything out of the ordinary. I have a vag-cable but my laptop serial port is broke. i guess i will just have to stay away from the high end runs...which sux that i have to back out if a run goes to the high end. i apperiate the info yippers!!!!
i will look into it with a vag-com....hopefully soon. i will post back with my findings....hopefully SOON.
