I have a 99 A4 1.8t avant and i'm having these wierd problems. Every time i gas up my car it has trouble starting. I have to step on the gas and finally after about 5 try it starts but i have to drive off so it stays on. After that it dosn't do it again untill i gas up again. My check engine light and it's for P1136. can the cause be from my MAF or lines somewhere?

I'm not totally sure but i thought that a lot of what controls the idle of this car or at least the nDBW is that it regulated idle and startup mostly from the evap from the top of the fuel tank, you could have a bad hose or valve, i think. If it drives fine and does this only on a new tank where vapor pressures are low or irregular this might cause your problem.

it just might be. it drives find after i gas up. after the tank gets to half a tank and i stick a gas punp in there and not pump it still drives untill i finally gas up. i will tke a try to find those lines or valeves that leak and see if there is a crack thank for the info. wierd

Now i get the p0441 error saying somthing about my Evap purge???
