I've been running giac k03 ecu tuned with lemmiwinks/fuel pressure/ etc with the Spud, but I've decided to got standalone to get the most from this hardware.
Need help with DBC conversion? What are my options for converting to cable while saving $ to spend on standalone. Someone said obdI 2.0l vw tb and pedal from Audi 90?
Also any suggestions on which standalone. Looking @ 034efi and hydra ems now.

RAD69 01-09-2005, 08:42 AM I am parting out my car and have a 98.5 pedal assy for sale. Depending on what the buyer of my engine wants, I may also have a TB, engine harness and other misc stuff that you will need...
Email me for more info.

n52audi18t 01-09-2005, 10:34 PM This looks absolutly evil, I want it, however what did you do to the block/internals to hold this monster down?
What engine code/ year?
how's the drivetrain holding up?
I don't know the history of your car so i want to know because i have an AEB engine and stock bottom/ researching reliable 350 whp out of a 1.8 block bored out or built to the hilt or whatever, if reliable 350 exists out of these cars or at least as much as i can.
1.8tScreemer 01-10-2005, 07:12 AM doesnt make any sense, sorry if this is a noob question.

auditunerb5 01-10-2005, 03:10 PM I haven't really tried to tune it on the stock ecu. Since I'm going standalone. It pretty rich now and 6500 rpm rev limit is no fun with a big turbo...Spoolup should be around 4300rpm.
Stock internals now. The stock setup should be good for around 500hp crank so you would have no problems on stock bottom end for 350whp. This turbo could make more than 400 @wheels so I'm pretty borderline ;)
I'll be the test mule.....
It's a 2000 atw
Nice list of mods you got there!
auditunerb5 01-10-2005, 03:12 PM It's a really nice piece tho. It's closed at idle. The spring is so stiff you cant push the thing in with you hand...takes boost to vacuum to open it.....psssssssssssss
1.8tScreemer 01-10-2005, 04:02 PM im goin that route, I was gonna go internally WG but i have heard that external is alot better. What did it cost to get your external setup made?? if you dont mind me asking
auditunerb5 01-10-2005, 04:12 PM I did the gt3071rwg because I upgraded from gt28rs so I already had t25 manifold. The t3 housing has no internal gate. If you get the rwg you can pin the gate yourself for nothing.
The specs are a little different. Same compressor side and the rwg has 57mm turbine wheel with 90 trim and the r has 60mm turbine wheel with 84 trim.
Finally you can choose .63 ar housing or .86. The .86 is going to give you the top end but .63 is going to spool 4 or 500 rpm quicker.<ul><li><a href="http://www.atpturbo.com/root/turboinfo/gtlineup/gtlineup.htm">http://www.atpturbo.com/root/turboinfo/gtlineup/gtlineup.htm</a</li></ul>
auditunerb5 01-10-2005, 04:50 PM hits the motor mount when you try to mount it on the atp manifold so I set it up like this

I did the plumbing myself. IMO it doesn't need to be mandrel so it's pretty cheap to do.
1.8tScreemer 01-11-2005, 03:10 AM bolt patterns, are there different flow charteristics as well??TIA
auditunerb5 01-11-2005, 02:20 PM
1.8tScreemer 01-12-2005, 11:02 AM I wanted to go that route but if i got to wait till 4.5k it prolly isnt gonna work for me ill just go with the 28rs or the 2871...and when does usuable power come on opposed to full boost, that i would like to know as well.

The GT28RS is a great turbo,I loved it on my car.
1.8tScreemer 01-13-2005, 02:59 AM I really want to get pretty deep into the 12.5-12.8 sec range, and as of now I dont know if the 28rs can put me there although I dont know anyone who has really pushed it to see what it can do, all i hear about is atp but they have gotten it only to 12.8 and i dont really trust them, and i refuse to pay 8K on a turbo kit.
1.8tScreemer 01-13-2005, 03:05 AM because im also converting to DBC well i will be in the spring, but i thought all i needed was the cable Intake Mani, TB Gas pedal and the cable, do i need to get that big ol silver plate too?? or will it mount to the DBW mounts...just wondering if i need to spend more money, what engine managment are you gonna run with your DBC setup.

1.8tScreemer 01-14-2005, 06:10 AM but that was from a guy parting out his car, but there is also a guy doing that right now in the classifieds you should shooot him a mail.

1.8tScreemer 01-19-2005, 06:59 PM and if its not a apr kit, how are you gettin that much power i assume with a standalone..also doesnt the rs flow a ton more air then the R or am i mistaken? Thx for the info and help bro.
Yippers® 01-19-2005, 09:01 PM a bit more umph.<ul><li><a href="http://plaza.ufl.edu/paradigm/caps/quarter.htm">Times here</a></li></ul>
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 04:32 AM I want to try to make that power on 93-94 octane if its possible and if not ill have a fun time trying.
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 06:47 AM long cars make ~ the same HP on 93 as the R does on race. Those APR cars below 13 were running race/race IIRC.
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 06:52 AM I dont want to have to pay $5 a gallon for it if you know what I mean.
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 09:27 AM My point was that with the RS on pump you should see a fairly reliable daily driver that will run in the mid to mid upper 12s on pump. With race and race programming I'd expect lowish 12s.
I've seen a couple of dynos on a transverse with not quite ready for prime time software ( one of the first Stg3 cars to begin the upgrade to 3+) that put down 311.93 wtq 314.42 whp on 93.
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 09:32 AM APR or a stand alone?? have you personally seen or had any experience with the 3071 thats what i really want but at that point lag is starting to set in pretty good. ;)
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 12:28 PM run mid 11s you're slow :)
It is APR not stand alone. There is someone who is plugging a 28/71 in a machined Gt28R housing (makes it bolt up to the APR manifold) and, IIRC, another working on a 30/71. As yet neither is up to daily use status but both say lag isn't all that unbearable. ....
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 01:47 PM i think there was one guy with it... mrnitrous or something sounds very promising but its gonna be another costly project unless I can get someone to buy my PES kit. how does your car do???
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 02:09 PM I am planning on either the potato or the 28/71
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 03:42 PM over the potato i just dont konw if its worth it... thats my thought the 3071 makes u wait for even longer but then, kicks it but up and down my only fear is it might be too much for a stock block to handle
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 04:51 PM 28/71 only lags behind the spud by a couple of hundred rpm. Time will tell.
1.8tScreemer 01-20-2005, 06:34 PM it, what are u gonna run for programming do you have a standalone or you gonna go wiht a custom chip.
Yippers® 01-20-2005, 08:33 PM The hope is to use the APR Stage III programming as a baseline and see what can be done from there.
1.8tScreemer 01-21-2005, 04:13 AM although your really need a custom tuned chip.... but of course you already know that, and of course you should get a wideband.
