I'm begining to run my new stand alone, it's making it very aparent that i need another injector, running nearly 17ms at 5bar pressure. I want to know if anybody has found the magical number for ignition advance on these cars without overheating/wrecking internals. Currently I have the car running 40 advance at almost no load(1.58kPa)4000rpm then falling to 30 gradually at load(83.65kPa) and finally falling out at 25 advance at full boost/load. I want to put more in it but am hesitant to because it's already taking a lot of fuel to keep knock away.

I run that with my setup but thats only with a 8:1 CR at 16psi for 91 octane and 20+ on 105 octane. Best thing to do is to watch block 026 which is the knock voltage.

Sound like a good number on c16. Only way to really know I guess is put it on the dyno.

happy. though i have a juss a little more air commin in the intake from the looks of his setp unless he has some custom setup (which i am thinking that he might as i cant see why anyone would ever run stand alone with a k04.

you have a built in knock sensor in your brain and butt. We have to throw a lot of fuel at it and are changing the injectors to componsate, i'm quite suprised that there is only about 8 in street program, that's quite weak and is the reason that we run a stand-alone, keep in mine our needs for this car are not 1/4 times but how well it gets around a 2 mile road course, yes optimally we would run a slightly larger charger, but not by much. these little k04's are great turbos

the k04 spools quickly by nature it has nothing to do with your standalone. its a small turbo.

that is on 91 craptane too.

you i dont see how that is useless. standalone with a k04 is useless imo.

18psi is a good number for that turbo at least i think, you can have a different opinion, i shouldn't wear it out too too quickly. My car is a 99 not a 99.5 for some reason it would go between rich and lean, mostly rich with the GIAC files and i couldn't find a good compromise between street and track that way. Power you must realize is not only boost psi but a lot of other stuff, I was also wanting to be able to do more that just sit there and watch the chip work, i wanted to have something to do with what the car was doing.

The most I got out of my K03 was 250 hp with 20psi and nearly as much timing for 104 octane.
You should try doing a 3rd gear and see how quick it runs thru that gear for the CAPS data (3800-6500 rpms) or put down a 1/4 mile run which should be in the mid 13's with 300 hp/tq.

what i'm really trying to do is get a good ignition map for this car, i'm sure that soon i will be looking for a slightly smaller turbo, the only problem is this comes out of the corner like a bandit, i can work guys on the track on my fat ass 3300 lb car, the fuel map is going to have to change a bit also, but we hope to do that on the dyno and the air-fuel working properly, we have no way to calibrate to make sure the #'s are on

with a GT35R turbo making 434 whp with just 21 degs of timing.

Even tho there is this negative, player hater attitude here @ audiworld. It's no wonder that tech info can't be found here.
