The dealer suggested the I change the rotors and pads on both front and back. This car just came out of factor warranty and is now on the extended warranty I bought.
not having done this before, I was wondering if Dealer is the better place to get this fixed...or should I go some place else.I live in central NJ
Also suggestions for tires...I need 4 new tires..
Thanks a TON.

There is a really good write-up in the tech articles section on how to do this. Make sure you have the right tools (they make ANY job go much smoother). Make sure you have an impact screwdriver to separate the rotor hat from the hub, as they will more likely than not be rusted together from the road salt given you live in NJ. Some penetrating lube would be nice to have too as well as a power bleeder as you really should flush the system's brake fluid completely, too. Plus with the saved money you can buy a better brake system (such as from StopTech or ECS tuning) and take pride in a job well done. It should take no longer than a Saturday to do the job right.
As for tires, I have used the Michelin Pilot Sports and they are grippy, quiet and (I think) worth the money.

And ilove both, for different applications.
They do cost a buck or two, however.
