Does anyone know of a thread or who can guide me through a rear brake pad and rotor replacement? Planning on doing it here soon and would like some help. Thanks in advance!!!

You should also invest the $75 in the factory repair manual ( bentley) from amazon or ?????

Its quite straightforward. For thge rear you must buy a tool that screw the pistons back in to the caliper. About $30 from harbor freight in a nice kit, or $15 from sears, for a crummier 1-off.

thanks for the info. Yah I have a tool that attaches to a ratchet so hopefully that works.

You know, I bought the Bently CD. I have to say that so far for everything I have used it for (including just doing the brakes) it has rather sucked. Pictures lack critical detail. It omits little details such as brake pistons now rotate instead of just pushing back, can't see where springs are places, says "remove plastic piece" but does not explain there are 4 locking tabs that must be released or it breaks, a paring brake adjustment procedure that does not seem to match what I actually see (and a service guy says it is not necessary anyway). I assume this is what Audi gave them.

The manual when executed from the hard disk also does not seem to work unless you are online and allow it to access the internet. WTF. I saw a VW manual on the Audi and it still does not explicitly identify the installed spring position, but the drawings were of noticeably better quality.

IS there a better source to recommend?
