I have a 2007 B7 A4, S-Line without TPMS. I would like to replace my pads with the Akebono Euro pads. I have always owned old and classic cars before this Audi. Changing brake pads was extremely simple. With this car, and anti lock brakes etc., would I be better off having a shop change my pads, or is this a simple procedure?

Yeah I did a search for this and found a tech article on changing pads for a 2000 A4. Will there be much difference between a 2000 model and a 2007 model? I'm pretty good with my hands, and not afraid to get in there and get dirty, so to speak, I am just concerned that it might be something that has very little room for error, and perhaps much easier to have a shop swap them?

If you don't have quick change calipers, remove the two caliper bolts, take out the caliper, remove pads, compress piston, replace with new pads, put caliper back on, tighten caliper bolts, done.
I've done brakes on Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Honda/Acura, Toyota, Ford and God knows what else. They're all the same. I've done regular brakes and I've done BBKs. They're not hard to figure out at all.

While from C4 it applies to all. Basically i say to clean the guide rods, lube everything, and while you're at it clean the pistons and boots too.
It really helps things operate smoothly and without troubles. And has almost nothing to do with specific makes, models or years. same applies to a chevy, a BMW and an Audi.
Bernie posted some nice tips recently too, over on C5 central.
