Someone recommended them highly on the C6 boards. Still using the OEM disks as there are currently (as far as I know) no replacements for stock. Only StopTech have the BBKs.

View Full Version : What's the consensus here on the EBC Redstuff superstreet pads. ACSGP 07-14-2008, 11:17 PM Someone recommended them highly on the C6 boards. MP4.2+6.0 07-15-2008, 10:56 PM Almost the only non OEM pad available for my fitment. I like them. Very nice feel, quiet. Somewhat less dust than OEM, but not as little as their promotional messaging might suggest. On the other hand, the W12 (and S8) have huge rotors (385mm) with large pads and car weight that are bound to generate more brake force and use leading invariably to more dust than a smaller car and brake set up. I haven't used them long enough to judge wear/life. They do seem gentle on the rotors, perhaps more so than OEM actually. I have used Mintex reds a fair amount on a C5 4.2 and EBC's are a step up from there in terms of feel, though Mintex are among the lowest dust I have seen/used. I will easily buy them again. They need to be broken in and per the APR guys, just give them 3 or 4 heavy stomps, you know brake to a near-stop from about 65-70 mph then let them cool for at least an hour after. Well worth the money. bahung 03-08-2010, 06:26 PM How do the EBC Ultimax compare to the PBR Metal Master in terms of overall quality, braking power, noise, fade, wear on rotor, and dust under normal city driving (no track or autocross though)? Does the PBR Axxis Deluxe Plus stop better? Less noise, better for rotor? I have read dozens of posts in these forums. I just want to get some final thoughts before I go ahead with my choice. Thanks. BiturboA6 03-09-2010, 08:31 AM the guy actually laughed and said he was sorry. 1800 without labor for a 2008 S8. the dealer wanted about 700 for oem front pads and rotors. I might try another place. Maybe I can get an upgrade from the oem? Any ideas? Thanks, Brandon |
