I recently bought a 2001 audi tt quattro and noticed the rear brake pads making noises. I pulled them off and saw they needed replaced. I installed new bendix pads and everything seemed good until I started hearing a rattling noise from the rear. I went back there and put my finger on the new pads and found them to have a little bit of play. I went to my bentley manual and noticed the parts break down included an "anti rattle spring" to help keep the pads from moving. I tried ordering the clips but no one has the part including the dealer. I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem before. The dealer tried telling me my car never had them and my manual is wrong??

I have seen anti-squeal backings. And on many floating calipers, ONE pad has a spring clip to hold it it place during install, btu that's it.

Hve yu checked everything? Did the brakes seat and the caliper adjust properly?

The brakes seat just fine from what I can tell. I've never heard of adjusting the brake caliper but I'm open to any suggestions at this point. I was just wondering if there's any audi tt owners out there who are having this same problem or have anti rattle spring(clips) on their rear brakes.
