someone told me they have a new formula and their pads are supposed to be much better now. He was saying they are the best pads out now and people on his race team use them instead of race pads. This sounds like complete BS to me but the guy who said this was from a reputable company so I'm wondering how much of this could be true. I was just looking for something for aggressive street driving like Hawk HPS and he said the Mintex were much better. Again, this seems to be the opposite of what been said here so does anyone know if things have changed recently?

I think the negative comments are from people who bought them for the wrong reason.
They melt on the track.
They are progressive on the street.

I used redbox and it sucks!Well the brake feelings isnt anywhere near stock. After I swapped it for Axxis Ultimate the braking performance is alot better.

And the last car I put them in as a 996. A lightly used 996 to be sure.
They are terrible race pads. But i think saying that they are terrible street pads is just plain wrong.
They have less bite ( I think that is good), and they dont tolerate heat well ( a trade off really, ever use rac pads on a cold morning?).

Carbotech Bobcats but the Ferodos are only available for the rear and the Carbotechs are way more expensive so I stick w/ the Hawks. Curious about the Mintex because of what I heard about the new formula but I guess no one here can confirm any of that.

says 'new and improved'. It might be a better pad, but i am not going to waste the money on another mintex product.
Hawk HPS is the cheapest decent street pad out there. The carbotech Bobcats are a tad more $$ but it think a tad more aggressive with almost No dust. The ferrodo ds2500's are great all around pad. I am running them now. Kinda dusty though. More bite and more feel than the bobcat.
But ds2500 is more rounded for HDPE's, Auto-x and daily driving. The bobcat can't handle this overweight car for anything more than daily driving and the HPS will melt at a HDPE.

in an emergency situation. That's when the Mintex pads were recommended by someone who had them on hand. Just curious if anyone else has heard anything about their new formula being better and more info on it. I guess no one here knows though...thanks again.
