I am going to get my 60k mile service done next week on my 2003 B6 at a local indy shop. I still have original OEM front and rear brake pads. The brake pad warning light was never come on, but my brakes are not as good as they used to be and I suspect they will tell my brake pads are low and need to be replaced soon.

I tied to get my Audi dealer to replace them before my 50k warranty ran out and they said Audi wouldn't pay for them because they were still too thick.

What brake pads do you recommend (link)? How much should it cost to have them installed? How long/many miles do the OEM pads typically last?

I'm looking to buy the 'best bang for the buck' online. I don't need special racing pads or anything like that (I'm your typical left hand lane highway driver - sometimes middle lane since my newborn daughter is now riding in the back). Any help would be appreciated.

And if they are not worn down, new pads wont be any better than old ones.

Your rotors hwoever, may be glazed.

How long do they last. Cant say. Driving dependent. Could be 20k, could be 60k. Mine go about 35k.

Cost, an hour or so of labor time.

Plus do a complete fluid flush every 2+ years, another say $50-75.

... inside, which is activated directly by the piston. The outer one is engaged a fraction of a MM later when the entire caliper is pushed over and it contacts the rotors. Newton on your side.
