I need to replace the rotors and pads, and like the look for cross drilled rotors.
I don't need Brembo performance, and I don't want to order some crap on the net and have it perform worse than OEM.
Brakeplanet.com and Brakeperformance.com both have options, but I can not find any positive feedback on either compnay.
Please advise if you have any cross drilled rotor suggestions for around $1,xxx.

Look at Brakeworld if you want drilled. From buying them ultimately for my W12, lo and behold on both the front and the rears I found what they were actually selling were drilled OEM rotors, complete with the Audi part number laser printed right on it. In one case it was supposedly a Brembo set (the front), in the other their apparent house brand Disc Italia; on inspection both were Audi OEM then machined and painted with a high temp paint. Effectively a several hundred dollar premium over OEM via an internet site, but well under the $1K mark.

Other possibility might be DBA's. I have the slotted on my 4.2--same fitment in the U.S. as the S6. After I bought them they came out with a 5000 series, which has a lighter hat; I have the 4000 series. Don't recall if they have it in the S6 /4.2 fitment for sure, but I think they did. ECS also has a house product like this, but it is for the smaller offset rotors usually found on S4's and 2.7T's. My guess is you have the deeper offset rotors like I do on the 4.2.

Search especially on the 2.7 S4 board, since it is the same basic HP2 caliper set up and same rotor diameter/type. It's just the hat offset that varies, and of course a lighter car.

A lot more brake modding happens on those I expect.

red box with good results for the street. Zimmerman and brembo are OEMs. The mintex seem quite good, so long as you dont need high temp performance. Got all mine from ECS.

I also put the same on a friend's 996 C4 with similarly good results.
