So I just completed upgrading the braking system on my '00 A4. While the rear reamined mostly stock, I upgraded the fronts with A8 carriers and rotors. During the process, I did not use the rubber grommets or caps that came with the kit. I did use the hex bolts as the old ones would not work with the new carrier/rotor setup.

Here's what I'm talking about:

This was the first time that I have ever really done any serious work on my car and I wanted the satisfaction of doing it myself. Now I fear I might have royally screwed the pooch by not using the specified parts.

I shall be taking my car in for the 40k maintenance soon, so should I have the aforementioned grommets/caps replaced in the process or will I be fine?

Thanks in advance.

You did not explain why you did not use them. And what is to prevent you from putting them on now? If you threw them away - you need to order some and put them on now.
