noisy on the street, but it needs to stand up to light track use. Will the Hawks fill the bill or do I need to pony up for the Ferodos?

View Full Version : OK, best price I've found on DS2500s is $190, on HPS is $125. I DO NOT want a pad that is Troy H 04-06-2005, 07:32 AM noisy on the street, but it needs to stand up to light track use. This Install and Update is silent, and Jack applied anti-squeal goop to the back of the pad, but I think the common denominator is slotted rotors. Plain rotors squeal, slotted rotors are silent. Those with plain rotors can silence them (for a short time only) by rebedding the pads with a few hard 70-5 mph back-to-back stops. IMHO, slotted rotors keep the pad free of glazing, which is causing the brake squeal. And out of curiousity, where'd you get the $190 price?

Silencing Brake Squeal

Troy H 04-06-2005, 09:02 PM LCP 04-07-2005, 10:06 AM ...they, like many street pads are passable on the rears though on a nose heavy car like ours. I've run them on the rears at the track without issue (I've never swapped rear pads for the track). Troy H 04-08-2005, 07:14 PM same price as just the DS2500s. That's what I'm going to do. Thx! |
