On my track car, the fronts have a 2 piece non-floating assembly. A fastening bolts go through a hole in the hat and is threaded into the rotor.

Is there a way of easily converting my setup to a floating assembly by just changing the fasteners? If I can't convert it with just fasteners, are there rotor rings that will work in conjuction with new hardware?

The fastener holes in the rotor hat do not have any threads. I guess I could just drill some new holes and tap some threads if that's what I need to do to convert it to a floating setup.

You will probably be better of getting a floating rotor & hat, than trying to convert one to floating. ;O)

...if that is not possible, then:

Order up a complete hardware set from Brembo, the T-Bobbins, Fastners, Washers, Mclaren springs, all of it.

Have the rotor holes machined to oval, have the hat machined to creata "ridge" for the T bobbin to secure against (thus not spinning all over the place).

If the rotor flange is thick enough (8mm is what brembo uses) then you'll have enough float and enough strength.

Still though, say your current setup is a 332x32, I'd order a set of Brembo 332x32 floating assemblies, and have a shop fabricate a set of brackets to make that disc setup work with your caliper. Gonna be way easier, cheaper and will work much better.

When I need new rotor rings, I'll consider buying floating rotors and getting the hat machined.
