Hey all,

Not an A4 question, but a Subaru alignment question for my wife's car. In a nutshell, I had her replace her stock Yoko Geolander tires for some Yokohama H4S Avids on her 2004 Forester XT. She complained after the install that the car was pulling to the left so I had her bring it back to a local Big-O to have them check the alignment.

The mechanic says the alignment is fine. This morning I look at the numbers and see that the camber on the left front and rear does not match the right (it's off by almost 1 degree) but still just within range. Would this be enough to cause the pull? Seems to me the answer is probably "yes". Mechanic drove the car, felt the pull but still did nothing. They were really busy that day and I think just being lazy?

I told my wife to bring it back and have them match camber from side to side (caster looked OK)

Basically, range is -1.2 -- .3 degrees up front. Left is at -.9 while right as at 0.0. Rear is off by a similar amount. What do you think?

I'm no expert on alignment but seems to me they should have done the alignment in this situation.

Turns out that camber on the Subie's is not adjustable, at least according to the tech at the dealer. Now looking at how the camber is evenly matched on the left but off from left to right, I suspect that a suspension component may be the culprit. Looking at her car from the rear, it seems that the left side is a bit lower than the right but I haven't measured.

So it's off to the dealer to have them look at the suspension. I don't think it's the tires at all, they are just making the pull more pronounced since they track better than the OEM tires.
