Hi everyone,
I just took 2001 S4 to the dealer. I asked him to look at the suspension, as it seemed... different. He said I needed a new outer tie rod, which would be covered under the extended warranty.
Well, it seems that it has been seized BY RUST to the inner tie rod. And the ext. warranty doesn't cover damage caused by rust.
Besides the fact that even if they are seized, you should be able to use some muscle behind it to separate the two, what material are the OEM tie rods made from? A friend who builds his own race cars thought they were aluminum (thus, it doesn't rust). But I can't find out what material is used anywhere.
Does anyone know? Has anyone had any experience with Audi and their extended warranty people.
Thanks,
Brian
