I currently have a set of Eibach sport springs matched with Bilstein sport shocks, I am not happy with the setup, two shocks have blown and the ride is a little spongy. I was thinking about some coilover...any recommendations. I don't track the car, I want it to be tight but also drivable. Thanks.

From what I can tell you, Bilsteins are going to make the car stiff. Konis ought to soften the ride a little bit. Problem with Konis is that you will have no height adjustment. For some springs that is ok, for others the car might be too low or too high for the persons taste. My suggestion to you would be Koni coilovers. H&R coilovers probably offer more performance, at least slightly more, but they have Bilstein shocks which I think you are trying to avoid. I'm going to give the Vogtland coilovers a try soon, but those should be pretty stiff.

For a while all we sold was the $3,000 Penske kit. Perfect if you track the car often and have that kind of money. Just happened that my wife got a S4 Avant, and I needed to stiffen it up.

I tried modifed Voglands, TrackSports, and H&Rs. For the money, Voglands are hard to beat. I highly recommend them. I liked them so much, that I called them up and became a dealer. Waiting for my 1st shipment.

Are they as good as Penskes? NO WAY! But they handle great, and allow height adjustability, and they are not too stiff. My pregnant wife drove on them, and my one month old doughter does not mind at all.

But I DO AGREE. Suspension feel is VERY subjective.<ul><li><a href="http://www.startupracing.com/B5ProductsSuspension.htm">Suspension</a></li></ul>
