Hi guys, I figured this would be the best place to post this. I have Eibach lowering springs on my car, which I'm assuming came as part of the "sport suspension" option that my car had when I bought it 2nd hand, correct me if I'm wrong. My question is this. I was told by the tech that my tie rods were on their last leg, which was about 3,000 miles ago, and I know they are gone. My car creaks like crazy when I turn at slow speeds, and my car bounces like it has hydraulics. I'm not sure but I believe that since I let my tie rods go so long, in turn it blew my suspension. My car feels awful right now and I'm ready to get it completely fixed in one sweep. I know I need to replace my tie rods, probably get an alignment, and I've always wanted to get aftermarket shocks and now I believe its absolutely necessary! Additionally, when I brake now, the car tugs a little to the right side. I replaced the rotors, pads, and put in a new rear caliper about 15k ago. I have one wheel which squeals worse and worse everyday and the car tugs. I know this sounds bad, but I take great care of my car and I believe these issues are all a result from not replacing my tie rods in time. (I work/travel 70 hours a week). So I've sort of let things go and need to fix it all. Ive read the posts about having lowering springs with stock shocks, and now I fully realize what you all are talking about. I've read about the Bilsteins for performance, and Koni's for ride comfort. I'm basically looking to stop the bouncing, and increase my handling overall, and I need any help I can get. Any recommendations? Known issues? Sway bar upgrade too? I need all of your help guys. Any input would be grateful, such as which model shock to go with, (Heavy Duty or Sport, Bilstein or Koni), maybe some cheap vendors online, (Best I've seen for Bilsteins/Koni's is $110 a shock) as well as any other help, such as measurements, etc. I'm really frustrated and need some expertise again. It's been a while since I've been on the boards and I want to thank any of you for your help and time in advance! Thanks!

As far as I know shocks don't wear out from worn suspension parts. They wear from age and usage... smooth highway vs rough roads. Bad tie rod ends may cause the pulling under braking. I don't like Bilsteins...too harsh. Get some input on Konis ie settings, from some of the companies that participate on this forum. Decide on some "performance" shocks, replace tie rod ends and checks all control arms for wear. That should get you back under control. People here love H-sport sway bars. I think this is very high performance mod. Get your car back in good shape and then see if you want this mod. You can do the bars anytime, it's even a DIY.

I just ordered some from them (along with Vogtland Sport Springs), and they have hard to beat prices, plus they seem to be well liked around here (Good Tech Support). They also know Audi's quite well (Many out there might sell them , but don't know the little changes between models, and settings). They also have replacement control Arms and Tierods and other parts (usually cheaper/better than Dealer).

Basically I recommend buying not only on price, but from someone who deals with Audi's...

Same goes for the labor... you may find (like I have) that some shops refuse to work on Audi Suspensions (they simply don't know anything about them).
