I just had all 8 front control arms replaced and 2 tie rod ends to solve looseness in the steering. The steering is much tighter but the car now makes a creaking noise at low speed. Sounds just like when I had an upper control arm(on each side)replaced last year. Any ideas? Defective new control arm or something else? Appreciate any ideas as my mechanic is at a loss to explain it.

If the suspension was simply hanging on the lift, when the bolts are tightened you can get bushing bind, which can cause some squeaking and creaking noises.

The vehicle should either be on a 4-post lift, on the ground, or in the air with the suspension loaded, as if it were on the ground, before all those bolts are tightened.
