Long story short my under body trans shield, pass side foot well shield, and one that runs the entire length of pass side (under the seats and floor) were demolished by ice falling off a semi last Friday. State Farm says they won't cover it under comp and I'm not paying the ded plus getting dinged for a "collision" as it wasn't. Been round/round with them on this for days now. So, wondering if there is a place I can buy them other than the dealer. That way I can put the car on my lift and fix it myself.

What wording in their policy did they cite to refuse to cover it as a comp claim? I'm curious and also a SF policyholder. I'm just as digusted as you are that they are classifying it as a collision. It's not different than deer jumping out into the road...doesn't make sense to me at all.

Anyway, try www.geniuneaudiparts.com for the parts, or CALL Carson at Riverside Audi in North Bergen NJ and tell him you're on AW for the internet discount. Both should be pretty competitive, but shipping might make negate savings.

"collisions" with animals are classified as comp (chiefly because their actions are unpredictable). The issue with ice being comp or collision is did the car strike ice lying in the roadway, or did the ice strike the car as a flying/falling object? In the latter case it would be comp. But I think SF is splitting hairs with you - it's all in how the incident is described. You should re-assert that the ice flew off the truck, through the air, and struck your car.
