Car is in shop for what I guess is the bad smog valve. In 18 months the car has been in for some type of stupid CEL 4 times plus the typ. maint. A real pain considering Santa Monica Audi will not give a loaner or a rental. For the cost of these cars now and Audi considering itself a "premium" brand you would think the would take care of us like they used to. Been supporting this brand for 10 years now.....sometimes I wonder.

With top level cars like the A8/R8 etc... Audi mandates certain services- like having an A8 available as a loaner, or providing other services for the customer such as at home pickup/delivery for service calls.

At the A4 level, the dealer makes that choice. Only one of the two dealers in my area provides loaners, and only if you purchased your Audi from them.

As for your CEL, sorry to hear you're having problems. This could also be an issue with your dealer... The B7 has proven to be quite reliable.

Using various dealers I have always requested and received a loner car for various services especially if it was going to be longer than an hour. That was with my 96A4, 00S4, 06A4, 07RS4, 08RS4.

The only time I was denied a loaner was when I didn't request one when my appointment was made and they were all spoken for when I arrived.

I know some dealers only have a couple loaners, so if they are out to someone else, there isnt really anything they can do. Why in the shop so many times, car is brand new?
