Hi All - I have a leased Audi A4 and am ready for my 15K service. The dealer wants to charge me $380 for a friggen oil change, air filter, and inspect this and inspect that.

So my question is can I take my car elsewhere and have the service performed? Does Audi allow this on a lease agreement?

Here is what my contract says:
Maintenance and Repair
You agree to maintain and service the Vehicle during the Lease in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations found in Your owner's manual. You shall pay maintenance costs not covered by the manufacturer's limited warranty. You will use original equipment manufacturer's parts or those of equal value in the maintenance and service of the Vehicle. You will maintain and keep in the Vehicle a record of all maintenance performed on the Vehicle. The maintenance record will be available to Holder at any time, and will be provided to Holder at the end of Your Lease. You will not make any change to the Vehicle without Holder's prior written consent (opps guess I shouldn't have chipped it, hehe). Holder may inspect the Vehicle upon request.

so they can note that the service was completed in their system. I'd check with your service rep (maybe even call AoA) prior to doing this, though.

if you do not, you will have to prove that ALL required scheduled maintenance was performed on time, using adequate parts/fluids.

Jiffy Lube won't cut it.

Just make sure that they follow the recommended service intervals and perform all of the recommended items AND note them on your receipts.

I went through this with our leased VW Touareg. VW requested all of my service records when I requested they buy me 4 new tires because the Touareg burned through tires so quickly. (it was out of alignment from the factory). I sent them copies of all of my oil change receipts, and each receipt listed the exact services performed at each interval, which matched the intervals and services from the Maintenance booklet. They wanted to make sure that I had been rotating my tires on the recommended service intervals, which had been noted on the oil change receipts.

VW bought me new tires.

So, just make sure that you keep your receipts and have the independent shop note everything on the receipts.

Hope this helps.

Are you asking they are going to ask you for all maintenance record when you turn in the lease? I don't think so... they might ask you that if you go in for any repairs under warranty

It wasn't cost effective considering I only did a 2 year lease.

hey guys slow down
the audi comes with total maintenance plan to 4 year or 48 K miles
( at least in USA)
oil change is covered at 5, 15, 25 and 35 K miles you don't need to change filter at 15 K if it is not a diesel engine
oil change which I paid at 10 K is $ 65

Not anymore. I am also leasing an A4 and the dealer confirmed they discontinued the practice of including the scheduled maintenance after the 06 model year.

My A4 Quattro is an 07 and I was told the only covered service was the 5K oil change. After that we're on our own.

Also, dealer claims the 2.0T will take 5 quarters per oil change when it only takes 4 (I had my 10K oil change made by mechanic). Used Mobil 1 0w40 and used a Mann cartridge filter and total cost was of about $45 with labor...
