Picked up my '08 BB A4 2.0TQM SE Ti pk from Alex (Audi of Mississauga) yesterday. All I can say is DAYM! I'm in love! I'll have a follow-up post w/ pictures maybe this weekend if I can borrow a camera.

Feels great to finally have picked up my first brand new car. I've made it somewhere in life!

Initial impressions:

- Stalled the car right outside AoM. LOL. Clutch engagement point is much lower than it is on the B5. I drive like a newb now. Guy in a C-class horned me.

- Picked up my fiancée from work (she's a teacher at a junior high school). A group of kids gawked at my car. One 12-13 year old kid yelled "HOLY CRAP THAT IS A SICK-A5S CAR!" I pretended I couldn't hear. Because I pretended like I was too good for them. Like I really care what a 12 year old thinks about my ride. Right.

But really I do care. LOL. It was awesome! Inside I was like "that's right...admire me".

Thank God I didn't stall in front of them...

- S-line interior exceeded my expectations by far. Love the grippy RS4 pedals, love the sound system, love the feel, love the preforated leather steering wheel with the red stitching, love the piano black trim. And the power folding mirror is pure baller. I have 0 complaints, except for the seats. During 1 hard corner I was almost sitting on my door. Not designed for skinny people.

- I have absolutely no qualms about the CDN:US pricing disparity now that I actually have the vehicle. Whatever, man. I totally got what I paid for.

- Chassis is stiff. Holy. Nothing like the B5. Soaks up bumps rather nicely, but my perspective is rather skewed since none of my past cars were good at that.

- Very happy with the power delivery. Trying to learn to drive a gear lower than usual - in the B5 I'd rarely use anything past 3rd gear - I like having power on-tap at all times.

- Pirelli P6's are nothing like my RT-615's in terms of sheer grip, but they'll do for now. And now that I'm downright bruck, I hope I'll survive this winter without winter tires. Gl0bal warming FTW! I kid.

- Don't know WTF happened but suddenly I seem to have caught Chinese parking disease. Tried to avoid the yellow line outside Swiss Chalet, parked right over it. Not once or twice, but 3 times. An old man laughed at me. I felt my manhood shrink. Got out again, and realized I was still 2 feet away from the curb. Opened the door, put the car in neutral, and used my foot to walk the car further into the spot. Doh. Then I realized the right-mirror tilt thing doesn't work unless you have the mirror thing switched to "R". That feature is a Godsend for my self-esteem.

Avoid me on the roads for the next few days. Too many distractions. I'm t3h danger. If you see a guy playing with his power folding mirrors at a red light saying "OMG OMG OMG" - run, it's probably me.

I also can't hear anything now! No idea what gear I'm in, how fast I'm going. So instead of paying attention to the road, I'm busy looking at my speedometer and fretting about this newfound power. I drive like a real Markham resident now. Hopefully I don't wrap myself around a P-Mall light post or bang up my rims. Shouldn't have made fun of Markham people so much. Karma is going to get me.

So if there's 1 thing I really miss from my B5, it's my APR exhaust. Can't hear my downshifts, having a hard time rev-matching my heel-toes precisely (feel a bit of slip everytime I do it). After yesterday I realized just how much I rely on my ear to drive.

Lastly, thank you Alex for being patient with my newbness. Awesome purchase experience. 5 stars! Alex FTW.

Amen.

There's an identical BB A4 Ti around this area too, not sure which street.
