I test drove the 2007 S4 and the 2007 335iX the other day. I liked everything about the Audi better, other than the steering (which I found over-assisted). Anybody got any suggestions for ways to tighten up the steering (and any idea on costs)? thanks much.

On the '06 it's on the left side dash fuse area. Says "servotronic" on it.

It's a start.

Did you remove yours?

Initially I tried it for a few days and didn't like it, steering was way too heavy and put the servotronic back in.

After coming back from some outdoor karting the steering felt way too boosted, pulled the servotronic as soon as I got home and it's been out for about a year now.

Funny story, had the car in for service and when I picked up the car the service adviser mentioned that a part needed to be ordered. What was it? A new steering rack! Told him that I pulled the servotronic out and he knew what it was and laughed.
