i understand that you have to snip port 2 wire and cross it with port 1 wire to get them to work with the parking lights. i have the premium package audi. does not have the hid's nor the "auto" feature for the headlights. does this still apply. i noticed how on some people it didnt work out so i just want to confirm.

What is actually done has nothing to do with HIDs, just the re-wiring of the foglight switch.

Remember boys, in all the states I know of parking lights cannot be used when moving in a traffic lane. That is the law and probably why Audi does not let them come on with the parking lights - I have gotten tickets for driving (4 PM in summer) with parking lights on.

That is insane, did he pull you over for something else and just give you that ticket instead. Or was he like I pulled you over because your parking lights are on.

If so that is just plain horrible, do the cops have it in for you in that town or what?

Yep - like 10 years ago near Albany NY. It is like a lot of laws that no one thinks of. This last time the officer said there was a recent "incident" - no details - that made them decide to crack down. I think in Germany they are really serious on this and no one drives with parking lights on - here we think of them as low,low beams or semi-fog's. Take care.
