1. I do not see the first aid kit listed in the brochure (it was listed under "safety" in my 2006 brochure). Anyone able to confirm that we no longer get a first aid kit in the rear armrest? If that's the case I may keep mine when I get my new 2008 A4.
2. I also see no mention of the reverse gear auto tilt-down right rearview mirror on 2008's. I don't have it in my 2006, but I think it was in the Technology Pkg. for 2007 for cars with Tiptronic. There is no longer a Technology Pkg. and I did not see it listed anywhere. Anyone know the story regarding 2008's on this feature?

Thanks.

2. I think is only available with memory seats. Not sure what package that might be included for 08.

First Aid Kit

Great link - I was not aware of it. I have emailed them to see if the bag includes the first aid kit or just the bag. Also, I am getting the Convenience Pkg. on my '08 and that includes driver memory seat - maybe it will have the auto tilt mirror. :))
Thanks.

1. No first aid kit
2. Mine does have auto tilt down feature, but it's on a 3.2 6MT

Also, no warning triangle or cargo net on the Avants.

It really bothered me to see that on 08's Audi has chosen to eliminate some amenities. Gone are the first aid kits, trunk cargo nets and maintenance programs. In its effort to cut costs, even though base prices have increased, Audi has succeeded only in cheapening the brand and offending its customers.
For me it's just the principle of it all. Next time around, I just may shop other brands.

Bob,
You were on the fence regarding whether or not to get another B7, with the lousy residuals and money factors and lack of loyalty incentives from Audi. Looks like you made up your mind and decided to stick with the brand. What was the deciding factor(s)? Did you look at the 328 xi? What kind of deal did you get, if I may ask? I'm still undecided, as my 2006 is due to go off lease in November.

Moose-
Yep - I was really all over the place on this one. Deciding factors:
1. I love the build quality of the A4 - better than A6 & am willing to accept the low speed vibration & hesitation to get the mid-range torque
2. BMW did not come in cheaper or close for an X3 and the 3-series looks like a kiddie car on scooter wheels
3. Audi finally came through with a "Loyalty Bonus" effective 9/5/07 giving a $750 capital contribution for current Audi drivers going into a 2008 A4
4. The dealer's service dept. is one mile from home and across the street from my commuter RR station - lol!!
5. My deal (final version I signed on this AM):
2008 A4 2.0 TQ, Tip, Premium, Convenience, Light Silver paint, heated seats, Audi Care maintenance package; "0" down, 36 months, 15K mi./yr., .00128 MF; 58% residual; 8.375% sales tax in lease: $503.50/month; $708.81 due at closing (incl. 1st month lease payment). I have the MSRP & sell numbers somewhere, but the bottom line $503 is what beat BMW by well over $60/month. Plus no security deposit with the A4 and the disposition fee on my current A4 ($350) is waived. I am satisfied, though would have liked $490. This dealer was selling a lot of cars in the process I went thru - I don't think they need to be rock bottom to move them out - folks in my area must have tons of cash.
Take care

As I mentioned this might not be the best deal, but here goes:
MSRP w/delivery: $36,950 + $590 Audi Care Miantenance plan = $37,540 total.
Sell price (incl Audi Care): $35,700

Bob,
Excellent. Makes sense. You forgot to add in that if you went with BMW, you'd miss all the people on this forum.
Thanks for the info. It will be helpful in negotiating my deal.
