We had the Audi IPOD adapter installed and my wife called me yesterday and told me the stereo in her car sounded like crap. Her A4 1.8T also had Bose so she does know what it sounds like.
Anyway, I have a VAG-COM so I decided to probe into it a little bit and when I checked faults on the radio it came up with fault code: 01044 Control Module Incorrectly Coded. The coding for her radio is 0650102. I have no clue if it's the right coding or not, but seeing that everytime I erase the fault it comes right back again I would have to say it isn't coded correctly.
I tried to see how my RS was coded, but for whatever reason I can't get the radio to communicate with the VAG-COM. It probably wouldn't have mattered anyway. 2 different cars.
What I'm asking for is if anybody has a VAG-COM to pull their codes and see what the control module says. She also does have Bluetooth, so I would guess that whomever can help would need to have that too in order to give me the correct coding. I can't get her car into service for this problem until next week so if it's just a coding problem I would prefer to fix it at home myself.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to get all of the facts. Thanks for any help.
