As the subject line says, got a great deal on a black on black A4 AWD 2.0T and took it home!

Took it today to GMG (http://www.gmgracing.com/) and got it the GIAC software program. It has really transformed the car into a totally different machine and I am very happy, but now I want more!

The guy at the shop suggested a Carbonio intake for the car and a full exhaust system.

When I asked him about a downpipe he told me its pointless since the car is automatic.

Why?

Also, that intake looks pretty witht he carbon fiber and all, but I don't think it would yield any results honestly. It looks as restrictive as the factory intake. Just really pretty.

Anyways, looking for members comments, thoughts or suggestions on what to get next. Also, if you get super good deals let me know.

I will hook people up with free web hosting or domain registrations in exchange for any discounts you can help me get.

I think only APR and Revo have code that lets you run with a test pipe without CEL.

Well that makes me a little mad. I think I will go back there and make them change the programming to APR or Revo then.......Thoughts?

If you want testpipe, go w/ APR.

I never had good experience with GMG, they always charge alot for labor. Ahead over to Euroturning if you don't mind for a bit drive.

Did you buy this one specifically? What kind of problems do you have when you take it into the dealership? Can they tell that the cat is deleted or do you have ECU set up to hide it? Tell me about it...

Yep, i bought it from that exact seller on ebay. real quick turn around, installed at an indy shop less than an hour!
I haven't had to take it to the dealer yet (knock on wood), only have 3500 on the odo. i have the apr 93 code, and apr has a code for the test pipe which fools the car thinking theres actually a cat on the car.

has more tourque and pull than my prevoius revo'd 2.7T!

I will go back to them and ask for the 93 APR tuning. I think they gave me the GIAC 91 octane tuning since the highest octane in CA if only 91 but i would assume that even witha 93 octane program the knock sensor would sense detonation and retard the timing, yes?

The GIAC It feels really good but if I can get more power through another program please let me know. After all, 700 bucks after tax for a reprogram is not cheap! I want the best for my money.

So will a test pipe yield more power than a full exhaust system?

Is there any good catback exhaust systems that is affordable within the 500 dollar price range?
