i have trouble closing my trunk shut. the hatch doesnt hatch on to anything, WTF?!?!?! anyone else have this problem. Will be taking to dealer soon.

The dealer will simply replace the entire mechanisim/ release. This of course does not answer the 'why' part.

I think it might be related to the emergency trunk release lever. I never had a problem until the emergency release lever hit a box in my trunk. Nothing but problems after that.

A neighbors Jetta (CVT/auto) has had the brake lights on numerous times. It turned out to be a faulty switch. This was prior to the public recall. Since Audi shares some parts with VWs, I wonder if this is one of them. Was leaving for work and found the brake lights on. A quick tap on the brake pedal turned them off. They were definitely not on when I parked the car the previous night.
