VAG settings and ECU updates are two separate things, so no, if you turned off the seatbelt chime it will remain off.

My 2005.5 w/ US coding did not seem to use the city lights at all.

Since switching to Rest-Of-World coding, the city lights now serve as my parking lights, and the only amber lights up front are for turn signals or European "street-side" parking lights.

On some codes, such as Canada, the DRLs are on continuously by law.

If you can get hold of a VAG-COM you should be able to select from a variety of different lighting standards. Hopefully one will work better for you than the one you have now.

touch the housing since they get hot and melt the housing if it touches the side. I pulled mine insde since I wanted just the clean single light look at night.

and the reflash is suppose to fix a possible check engine light
