Basically when I reverse with the wheel turned far right or far left, I hear this annoying squeak/screech sound.

What's up with that? My cousin says all Audis are plagued with it. True or not? What can I do to fix it?

the pump dead heads itself and can't pump anything.... hence the nasty noise.

if it makes that sound during normal turns usually means low fluid / leak somewhere
