I swapped my 01 A4 cluster with an 00 S4 cluster months ago. At the time I soldered my EEProm into my new cluster to keep mileage & other functionality.
The one issue I've had since day 1:
Oil temp sensor doesn't work. I just assumed this was broken on the new cluster.
Recently I've been getting intermittant LOW OIL warnings, when my oil level is fine. I even replaced my oil level sensor and this still comes on now and again.
This is a mightly long shot but I'd be interested if anyone had a reason to believe the cluster is causing this warning light, otherwise I am just about out of ideas.
