We'll be heading out Wednesday for the World of Speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats with the AudiWorld Project B7 A4.
Neil came over and helped me finish installing the seats and 5 pt harnesses today. I ended up having to make custom brackets for the seats to go in the car, but it wasn't too difficult, just time consuming.
The APR K04 kit was installed last week and the car absolutely rocks! With the Carbonio intake, the downpipe, and the APR exhaust, this thing sounds great - not too loud but deep.
Here are some interior pictures. I'll have some better ones later.

First, glad you like the K04. Congrats.
Ok, with regards to the seats, I am thinking of going with the Recaro Pole Position or else I was also looking at those Corbeau seats. Do those work with stock belts for when I am on the streets? Have you ever compared them to the Recaro PP chairs?
Second, can you tell me a bit about the cage? Do you know if it carries any certifications and where can I get it or did you have it done custom?
Thanks man and good luck at the flats.
cheers! Mike

Thanks! I read your posts on the K04 in determining to go with this kit. I especially liked your boost flow and mass air flow charts - you can feel the pull all the way to redline as your chart indicated.
The seats require different belts. When you remove the seats in the B7 it takes the seat belt anchor points with it, so I had to anchor the 5 pt belts through the floor since the only reinforced mounting points are taken by the 4 seat mounts and some organizations don't allow you to mount lap belts at the same point as the seat mounts. For the shoulder belts I used the factory seatbelt anchor points for the rear seats, and for the crotch strap I mounted that to the seat mount I made. I'm using the Corbeau 3" 5pt cam lock belts. I'll take some more detailed pictures and post them.
The Corbeaus are very comparable to the Recaro PP in almost every way - both fiberglass reinforced and all. Corbeau's headquarters are only about 20 miles from my home so it was very convenient for me to go and sit in them and decide what seats I wanted to get. I'm really impressed how high quality they are, especially at about half the price of the Recaros...
I had the cage custom built for my 2000 S4 when I ran that car at the salt flats. It was almost a perfect fit when we tried it in this car. I was amazed! I had a local race fabrication shop build it to SCCA spec, so it has the required size mounting plates and tubing wall thickness. The main bars mount through the bottom of the car with a plate underneath on each side. The rear bars extend almost to the rear of the trunk and use the two bolts that extend down through the rear bumper section, plus a third bolt. Lift your carpet toward the back rear corners of your trunk and you'll see the two bolts - they're a 12 point socket head.
I'd be happy to take some more detailed pictures of the bar for you if you want to have one made up.
Thanks,
John

Great seats - more comfortable than I thought they would be!
Did you powder coat your wheels, or did you order them that way? Love the look!

I've installed the 3" Corbeau 5 pt harnesses in the car. The seats have the slot in the base for the crotch strap. You can barely see the crotch strap at the very bottom of the picture below - the passenger seat.
I should have some better pictures in the next few days.

How's the finish on the wheels holding up? Any chips? I've thought about doing this but am unsure how they would hold up.

I do have a special case with these wheels though. They are not street wheels, but old Champion magnesium wheels that should NOT be powder coated as I found out. It will be great on aluminum wheels but it melts off these. I have to get them annodized. I have other regular powder coated wheels and they hold up great!
I was thinking about getting your seats for the light weight aspect. I have some sparco milano's now and they are 40+ lbs each.
