Hi all,
I just bought a b7 a4 last month and had no problems until a week ago.
I'm driving a automatic transmission 2.0T a4, and whenever i brake slowly and steadily, the transition from 3rd to 2nd gear is really harsh...seems like they're mashing together almost...anyone experience the same problem with the automatic tranny?

You need to go to your service dealer and have them reprogram your transmission computer. I had a problem "clunking" from 3rd to 2nd and now it is gone. They kept the car for the day.

On my B6 at least I had the same problem with a Tip and at about 40mph down it would grind pretty bad and I wouldn't even need to brake sometimes.
A throttle body adjustment resets the "Drive By Wire" function in the car.
With engine off:
- Turn key to halfway position (where just electronics work)
- Press pedal in all the way for 5 seconds.
- Depress pedal, turn key to off position and keep key in slot.
- Wait 2 full minutes.
- Turn engine off and wahlah.
That should most likely do it, you wouldn't believe how many people take advantage of coasting...lol

thanks for the suggestions I'm gonna take it to the dealer tomorow anyway.
I have a manual, but throttle been activing weird, though it was just me.
Did a reset, and thing are back to normal.
Any idea what causes it to need a reset?
