No one else AFAIK

Considering that this version is new, archives are outdated. I do know that APR has software, and that AWE has a dyno chart, and that Revo and others are working on it. But I want the latest, as in todays scoop.

hopefully it would be, considering previous software has not been that great.

I have personally seen them do countless hours of testing and logging to get that software right for the 2.0T. I'm sure APR does as well but don't post something when you have nothing to back your claims with.

If you search on here on any of my posts you will read that I have done numerous highway and "from a stop" runs with 2 APR chipped 2.0T cars in my Neuspeed chipped one. I pulled away steadily from both and they hit their speed limiters as well, seems they didn't remove it. I've also mentioned before that I make my claims only from actually testing as I would have switched over in a heartbeat if the APR cars beat me or felt better, which I don't think they do. No bias here as my 1.8T GIAC-X chipped Jetta is still my trusty daily driver and it drives awesome. Let's see what GIAC and Revo come up with in the next few months...Cheers.

We all know that the more extreme the tune (more boost/ timing/ etc) the more power you'll get. The question everyone should ask also is which chip will be the best overall taking into consideration drivability, reliability, etc.

I have been through this before... chipped 1.8T in 98, then the S4 in 00. APR and GIAC have shown to update their software - which is great. GIAC has always produced more torque, and highest boost, I assume they will do the same with 2.0T. Strange thing is that they tune for 91 octane gas, and still pull big numbers. APR, IMHO has been smoother, and updates software is FAAAST.

Here is my recommendation - stick with the vendor that has a distributor that is close to you. That would allow for easy updates, and any trouble shooting when needed. The difference in HP will be there between vendors, but not enough to switch. Go for support and ease versus hype. Finally all of these cars can be improved by tuning them on a dyno. So if you live in Santa Barbara - go to Neuspeed, buy their code, put the car on dyno and have them tweak it more. GIAC if you are in LA. REVO will do that as well. That is how you are going to get best numbers.
One more! GIAC and APR and REVO also have software that allows you to tweak the settings - BIG PLUS.

In U.S. the respected VAG chip tuners for B5 and B6 Audis are:

GIAC and APR
REVO is getting there quickly
MTM is a niche player
Neuspeed has been weak sauce, will see what happens with the new software.

unless they were tested on the same car, same dyno, they will be as useful as "tits on a bull" as the saying goes

There is a member who is doin his own chip test...so far has done MTM, with all the others planned. This will be a REAL test - same car, same dyno, with a datalogger. HP and Torque numbers are not the be all and end all - what makes the "best" is how they achieve those numbers. Insane timing? Crazy boost spike? Lead mixtures? A dyno alone won't tell you any of this, yet all of it is far more critical than the final number that gets spit out.
