Are you working on an enclosure or something? If you are and want to use that area, it could be done. The sat radio module is relatively small and could easly be relocated to another location.

My enclosure is separate. I am not using any of those areas. Its the same enclosure from my b6, just repainted red.

Also it seems like the whole black plastic housing comes out without too much trouble, so if you were doing a subwoofer there you could easily get more space. Also the black plastic vent on that side, it seems like there is a lot of space behind it...i.e. between the wall of the trunk and the car body. Behind the vent on the other side is a component for the Bose -- the amp I guess.
