In the Boston area I saw the ambient temp (console) get to 92 degrees while in transite. The expected heat lag was only very slightly noticeable (perhaps even mis-preceived)

I would expect with 1.8t/Tip to loose a whole lot of power on a day like today.

Question: Will the FSI engine react favorably to a high flow air filter like the 1.8 responded to a K&N?

Nice. Well, 92 degrees happens in S.F. about 4-5 times a year. Usually in April and October but we've had a very cool April. Maybe it hit 80 once.

K&N airfilters never produced any gains in the 1.8t. It has been proven time and time again. The only thing you might accomplish is killing your MAF. If you are that concerned about airflow, just change the stock filter more frequently.
