To B7 owners --

I'm thinking of buying a B7, but during my test drive of models with tiptronic transmission I noticed hesitation on acceleration and odd gear changes. I researched this on other forums and found this has been a common frustration for Audi owners over the years. Does the problem persist on the B7? If you own one, let me know if you've experienced it or not.

Noticed it when test driving auto...even though I was buying MT...I only test drove automatic because at the time the dealer didn't have any MTs in stock...

I test drove a 2.0q tip. From a standstill I was looking for the hestitation and unfortunately it was there. Very slight but noticable. I have this on my 2003 3.0 CVT so I was hoping Audi found a way to eliminate it. I haven't tried a 3.2q tip yet but I'm willing to bet it will there also. Will this stop me from buying one. No it won't it is a very small negative while there are tons of positivites. I sure wish Audi engineers could solve this very minor issue. Talking to my Audi mechanic I hear that many people also notice this. BTW the throttle response on my 98.5 2.8q tip was outstanding

I find the 3.2 to be a very nice transmission.
Much improved over the TIP in my A6 4.2

And the only thing I didn't like on the 4.2 transmission is that it didn't hold 1st and it was hard to keep it there.

also, the transmission adapts to the driver's style.
