I head read that the B7 has new speakers as a part of the bose system using "nd" technology which use neodynium magnets which are more powerful while being much smaller. Can anyone report the difference compared to B6?

View Full Version : How's the new stereo in B7 (ie bose nd speakers)? . .. . nischal 03-19-2005, 06:32 AM I head read that the B7 has new speakers as a part of the bose system using "nd" technology which use neodynium magnets which are more powerful while being much smaller. Can anyone report the difference compared to B6? dave6 03-19-2005, 11:06 AM I have the non-nd stereo set and I can tell you that although it sounds more open the highs are too much, the mids too pushed and the bass screams for about 400% more power. It's easy to push the system past its limit and get muddy/pushed bass sound. It's a big improvement over the B6, -even the "upgraded" Bose in the B6, but still not as good as Infiniti or Lexus. dutchy2.0t 03-19-2005, 12:34 PM I have the upgraded bose system. I am extremely happy with it. I crank both the bass and treble all the way up and it has absolutely no distortion at those levels. There is aboslutley no reason for the average listener to ask for anything more. It will rattle the mirrors but don't expect it to turn heads like an aftermarket system with a couple 12 inch subs in the trunk. If you enjoy clean crisp tunes at a moderate to high sound level you will be happy that you spent the extra grand on the upgrade. taxman1 03-19-2005, 12:49 PM I consider the sound from the Bose the best I've heard in a car. I've been listening to XM and CDs. I thought the Monsoon in my Passat was good but I had speaker rattle or something going on from day one and just lived with it. The installation in the B7 is well done. Worth the money. tekjunky 03-19-2005, 04:28 PM Hi, Just two weeks with my new car and I must say that the standard sound system is below what I expected.....I agree with Dave6 100%. I will be moving my after market system(12inch sub/300W amp/ JVC KD-SH707 head unit)from my 97 Altima to the A4 ASAP...for now I'll leave stock speakers and see how the sub and HU helps |
