I just found out the information I posted in my B7 A4 review article was incorrect in relation to the price of the custom paint program.

The correct price is $2,500. Sorry for the misinformation previously provided. I got this information from "the man".

You can get the navigation and 17" wheels for that money. I can see someone paying $76K for an A8 4.2 or $120K for an A8 6.0 paying over 2 grand for a custom paint, but at this price point it just seems overkill.

some people say you gotta be crazy to spend $100k on a car. Put it this way, you and everyone else see the color of the car every day, you most likely will NOT use navigation every day!

I would've loved to have had a unique color. It seems like 90% of all A4's here in L.A. are either Dolphin or Black. I'd do it if it were more in the $1000 range.

I think it's worth it if you really know what you want. Short of making my very own car, color is a good way to make sure I won't see another version of my car - unlike my current silver A4...
