And chip/exhaust upgrade for the car in Europe.

I'm trying to find out if the upgrades will be available at the launch of the North American cars for our market.

- Stock car is ~ 200hp and 207 ft/lbs of torque between 1800 and 5000 rpm.

- MTM chipped car is up to 245 Hp and 258 ft/lbs between 1850 and 5000 rpm.

- MTM chip/exhaust is up to 255 Hp and ~ 264 ft/lbs between 1850 and 5000 rpm.

That's a pretty nice start for the B7. I will try to get more info and I will keep you posted.

Euro uses stratified charge, NorAm does not.

During stratified-charge operation, the FSI engine's most economical mode, fuel is not injected until the compression phase, and is then transported to the spark plug by the air turbulence produced in the combustion chamber. This causes an ignitable mixture to form around the spark plug, with a substantial air surplus in the remainder of the combustion chamber.

I don't know where you get your info from. You've already made up your mind you fully understand this technology, and you think it's highly questionable. Yet, you think NorAm engines will be stratified charge. They will not be stratified charge (our fuel has too much sulfur). They will be direct injection only.
