I'm new to the forum and I hope this is the right place to post this. I have a 2 part question. Will the new A4 engines be offered in the cabriolet this spring or are they rooled out at a later date? When the new engines are available in the cabriolet will they be offered with a manual tranny or still just the CVT? Thanks for any info.

The latest info on the A4 Cabriolet is this:
- 2006 models will get the 3.2 FSI and 2.0T
- Full screen Nav already introduced to 2005.5 models.
- No facelift (unconfirmed)
The A4 cab will be succeeded in 2008 by the A5 Cabriolet, based on the forthcoming A4's B8 architecture. New engines will include a 280-300HP V6. The car is rumored to be all alumimium and have an aluminium or carbon retractable hardtop. Other technology will include full MMI implementaion with traffic report, electronic parking break, keyless entry and a lane departure warning system. A 400hp 4.2 FSI S5 Cabriolet will debut the following year.

Actually, I think the FSI V8 in the S5 will have 4.5L of displacement and will produce 350 hp. The same 4.5L FSI V8 in the RS 5 (there will definitely be an RS 5 as the market strongly demands a two door RS model from Audi) will produce 450 hp. I know i have asked this question before, but will the aluminum frame on the A5/S5/RS 5 be the third generation of the aluminum space frame (ASF III) like the D3 A8/A8L and Bentley Continental Series? Or will it be an aluminum monocoque frame like the 2004+ Jaguar XJ? I hope it is ASF III as the aluminum monocoque frame is a lot less solid than ASF III.
