I feel your pain on the RS4 forum. I am counting the days for the B7 RS4 to be released. Already on about 3 L.A. area Audi dealerships interest/wait list for that car. But will it out preform an M5 and E55?

the new M5 official 0-60 is 4.5 secs and no mag test so far has clocked faster than that.

the E55 official 0-60 is 4.5 and one mag got 4.3.

solid sources on AW have confirmed RS4 will officially do 0-60 "comfortably under 4.5 in 0-60". that means that it will easily do 4.4 if not less than that. the RS4 will also be much more nimble than the others due to its smaller size and weight. sure, it won't obliterate either of them, but it will be a faster car and you won't have to slow down to a crawl when you get to a curve (E55) and won't have to press a "use the engine at its max temporarily" button (M5) to make it go fast.

Is that 6 speed, tip, dsg? Has Audi confirmed that it will come in anyone one of these? Well obviously it will be least one, but will there be an option...?

that can actually handle the torque of the new engines and can actually be fitted with longitudinal engines.

In two or three years, DSG (longitudinal and transverse) will replace the tiptronic throughout the lineup worldwide. There will be four DSGs (two transverse (DQ) and two longitudinal (DL). The DQ450 (a six speed unit built by ZF) with a maximum capacity of 332 lbs/ft of torque is the only DSG that is available right now. The DQ250 (also a six speed unit built by ZF) with a maximum capacity of 184 lbs/ft of torque will come out in two or three years. At that same time, two other DSGs will become available. One will be the DL500 (a seven speed unit built by ZF) with a maximum capacity of 369 lbs/ft of torque. The other will be the DL700 (also a seven speed unit built by ZF or Getrag) with a maximum capacity of 516 lbs/ft of torque. AutoBild is one of the most reliable sources when it come to future German vehicles. Not surprising given the fact that AutoBild is a German car magazine.
