What's up Audi heads? I am a current E46 coupe owner and am very pleased with my car. However EVERYTHING that I have read/seen on the new Audi B7 RS4 has made me fall in LOVE with it. I am already #1 on the interest/wait list at Rusnak Audi for the RS4, so hopefully sometime next year I can join all of you guys as a proud Audi owner!

Oh yeah, I'm saving my loochie. Any thoughts on where the pricing will be? I heard the B7 S4 was going up around 5% over the B6 S4, and I would figure the E90 M3 will still be in the high $50k low $60k range. Which makes me think the the new B7 RS4 will probably fall in the $58-$64k range.

I think the RS4 will be in the low $60k.

If Audi plans on re-releasing the RS6, which will directly compete with the BMW M5 and Mercedes E55 (which are both priced in the 70-80k range) how could they price the RS4 in same range as the M5 and E55? That would mean that the RS6 would be priced in the 85-95K range.
You may know more than me but my guess is the B7 S4 will be around 54k and the B7 RS4 about 62k.
the RS4 aims at slightly more exclusive status than the M3 (in this case the upcoming M3). i would guess it would start at about 60K (definitely not lower than 60K)- and top out at around 65K fully loaded (Nav, heated seats, 19's standard or not, exhaust system, sun shades, and maybe even solar roof). remember that despite the FSI it'll prob have a nasty gas guzzler tax.
no matter what it will be an expensive piece of metal to park on the driveway....
remember this is going to be a 4.4 or less 0-60 car with the ability to lap the nurbugring at speeds equal to that of the current 911 turbo. rumor says it will have extensive aluminum body bits and maybe even carbon fibre too. i wouldn't be surprised if it had titanium connecting rods with that rumored 9K RPM redline.
this is a FASTER car than the new M5, CLS 55, E55, and M6!
i'd say 65K or so -loaded- would you have it any other way? :)....
we'll know for sure sometime around early march.
magic word is GENEVA.

if not flirting with the $90k range.
The E55 is mid $80k now.
So $65k for an RS4 is not bad.
The new M3 will also be much more expensive than the current one.

That sounds right. I wouldn't be the slightest surprised if it does top 65K loaded. I just couldn't see Audi pricing it >$70K.
I also realize that the RS4 will not directly compete with the E90 or E46 M3. That's for the S4. I want to see the RS4 compete with a Porsche Turbo!
to put it safely and conservatively (for purposes of projecting a person's ability to buy the car) you should plan on spending just under 70K loaded. for the first 6-8 months that the cars arrive here you will be paying MSRP, not more and not less. this includes either waiting for your ordered car or buying one someone backs out of (this will happen- be sure of it). the car will push 65K loaded, then calculate taxes, etc...and you are just under 70K if not just over it.
bottom line. get ready to shell out about 70K, which, considering AlexTT's post, is reasonable (VERY expensive, but reasonable) for the caliber of machine it will buy you.
considering the larger platforms-including the next RS6, et al- it is the right price. those all run about 10K more. the next RS6- from reliable sources on these pages- will be in the 80-85K range (audi recognized that the last RS6 was priced a bit to aggressively).
for comparison- the upcoming S6 (with a 420 hp V10 or version of the V8 FSI RS4 engine is said to cost about 70K, 10K more than a loaded A6 4.2).
the S8- which will have a FSI V10- is said to cost about 90-95K or so. this is less than the W12's price.

killing them. AoA has already restructured the profit on the new cars....dealers are making way less per car and the salepeople are getting it in the @ss with this one. I know a guy at a local Porsche/Audi dealership and he now has to sell over 12 Audis to make the same amount on a base 997. Porsche played this one well as they hedge for currency swings.
Just look at the RS6....they had to scall back on it because the dollar had already started to slide. Car was supposed to come with additional cooling for trans and engine but $$ tanked and they pull those items out. I wouldn't doubt that is also the reason we didn't get the Recaros as well.....don't think that the future RS models will be cheap.
