Yesterday we put a conditional order in on a new 6spd manual 2.0TFSI A4 with all options, Quartz Grey/Silver with Beige Leather.

Conditional, in that when the car comes in if my wife doesn't like the "behind the wheel" experience, she can walk with no harm no foul. I would be shocked if this happens.

We specified Panther Black Pearl -- a standard Audi Color (but not here): $2,500. Back in the day when Pearl White was an off the sheet option, it was "only" $1,250. We would have gone $1,000 -- not worth $2,500. And, typical AoA, we cannot order any Audi wheel from the Audi parts bin until AFTER we take delivery and then at the roll up your arm and bend over price -- so we'll be ordering some RS 6 wheels from our friend josh -- 18" wheels are not avail no way no how (probably with the late arrival S Line pack, I'd bet.)

No prices, but I can only assume that even with every possible option (except auto trans), this should still price out at a number beginning with a 3.

=====

I keep reading here, that some folks are all hyped up about the new A4 3.2 -- some going so far as to imply that it is almost a 2002 S4 -- I said almost.

My dealer says the new A4 3.2 ONLY comes with the tiptronic. While the new 3.2 A4 may be a fine fine performer (and produce sub 7 second romps to 100 kph) -- wouldn't it be even better if AoA had considered offering us a 6spd manual in the 3.2 new A4, too?

Or, is the late November order guide incorrect?

In other words, do we all believe that the new A4 3.2 will come ONLY with a tip?

I received the same information from a dealer in the Bay Area: no manual until late 2005.

The manual won't probably show up until the 2006 model year which should be here sometimes in Summer/ september.

if there was gonna be a manual transmission in the A4 3.2, it should show up first on the new A6 3.2 but that's never gonna happen, therefore, The only Audis available with the manaual transmission will always be the A4 2.0T, The S4, the TT 225, and the Allroad 2.7 which will be discontinued anyways.

is that it is too small of a market.
Only 10% of clients would want the stick in the U.S market.
it is available in Europe.
The A4 however is a different story.
There will be an A4 3.2 Manual but most likely as a 2006 model year.

Your salesman is correct in that his first batches of 3.2's will only by tiptronics. But, the 6 speed will be available later. Either coincidentally, or not so coincidentally, at the same time the S Line makes it debut in NorAm.
