so I don't make many posts, but a recent accident has me inclined to comment on current dealings with Audi. in the little snow we had Friday evening in north jersey, I avoided a car skidding out around a turn and with my summer tires and rims still on (mainly because I sold my originals), I drilled a curb and messed up pretty much everything on my front right tire (wheel bearing, rim, control arm, power steering), ESP light was stuck on and couldn't turn it off. It was still drivable, so I took it Jack Daniels Audi the following Saturday morning at 7:30.

Being the first there I figured paying for a loner wouldn't be a problem and they didn't have many appointments at all. Well they couldn't offer me a loner and they had to call Enterprise. Enterprise gets there around 10:00am with a Toyota Prius. I mean, really? A Prius hybrid? Audi had to wait for my insurance provider to get there and they had to order a part which would take 5 days. They also wouldn't order the after market tire/wheel bundle and I have to get that on my own. It's just little **** that gets to me and this dealership already screwed once on a loner before. Now I totally understand I didn't come in for regular maintenance work or have an appointment, but I also was planning on paying for a rental through them. I have no problem with people wanting to drive hybrids, but to not even give me a rental of something somewhat comparable sucks.

I might be venting on stupid **** here, things obviously could be much worse and this is trivial in the long term, but its a hassle right now. And it could be the fact that I am also sick with bronchitis on top of things.

I slid into a curb with my car this winter too, not nearly as bad though. Sounds like you have a case of ****tydealer syndrome though. My dealer would never do that. When they can't give me a loaner, they give me a used car off the lot. I even had one for 2 months at one time, no problems. Any other dealers in your area?

I'm not saying I NEED that kind of treatment, but it may be nice.

Oh yeah, only helps me out if you are in SoCal :)

when your insurance company is involved, you get whatever they give you. I think that depends on your plan and also what the rental company has in stock.

When my A4 was in the shop, I had to get a Toyota Corolla or a Chrysler Seebring. The insurance company would only pay for something $30/day.

Look at it this way, you're helping out the environment for a little bit by driving the Prius.

About the wheel. Dude, it's not a stock wheel. Calm down. Do you have the wheels insured? If so, you can claim that through your insurance. What most people don't know when they mod cars is they need to add Accessories Insurance. If you don't, your car gets stolen, you won't get money back for wheels and other do dads you put on the car. Happened to me way back in the day. I learned the hard way and have never modded a car after that incident.

what car you get.. it is between you and your insurance not the dealer

you don't like the rental they get you, I'm sure you can upgrade.

I haven't had an audi loaner in the 8 years I've been driving audis, and the rental is usually a crappy corolla, etc.

driving the crappy car makes me appreciate the audi more. i dont know, prious might be kind of cool to thrash on for a day or two.

I work in an Audi Dealership, with over 50 Audi Loaners. When Insurance and accidents are involved, the normal procedure is, in fact, to go through a rental car agency, as per the insurance company's replacement vehicle coverage.

Not an Audi Service issue at all, but rather S-O-P...

..this has nothing whatsoever to do with the Audi dealership as the circumstances were set upon them on "no notice", by you. It is impossible for any car dealer to be "on standby" for an accident waiting to happen.
Only ones that qualify for this are fire & rescue personnel.
We need to take responsibility for our own misfortunes and not blame others that don't meet our expectations.
Sorry and good luck.

A call ahead would have secured a loaner.

One time they ran out of loaners and had a rental car for me, nothing special, but it was a free car for the day so I can't complain.
Every other time I get an A4 or A6 loaner depending on which car is getting serviced.
