I'm looking into a new new of wheels for the avant and realized that I'll need to clean and maybe paint the calipers before I put the wheels on to get the best effect. Has anyone done this before and would be able to give me some hints. My calipers are a bit dirty and rusty even though they are only 2 years old. Thanks in advance.

You can either take the calipers off and hang them while you paint - or mask off the rotors etc and paint.
The epoxy paint is the only kind that is impervious to brake cleaners and is tough enough to last for many years before touch-up.
Also plan on having the car up on stands for 24 hours.
for 1/2 the price. Check it out. I did my mine a year ago and all is well. :)<ul><li><a href="http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html">Clicky</a></li></ul>
